White Zoot Suits

Tracking down its history, Zoot Suits have been the attire of the Pachuco boys. These young Mexican American group were believed to start the crimes in the city during the 1930s and 1940s in the Southwestern United States. Additionally, they belong to the ethnic group who has their own dialect and a different way of clothing.
Furthermore, as part of the Pachucos attire, a white Zoot Suit features a longer- than-usual white jacket; it is usually a knee-length jacket with broad shoulders and large lapels. In addition, the matching pant is characterized as high-waisted along with baggy thighs and close cuffs. The Zoot Suit outfit is usually worn with a wide-brimmed hat, pointed-toe shoes and an extra long keychain. The Zoot suit style is derived from the classic style of double-breasted suits wherein the suit is characterized by a two rows of button in the front. Obviously, the Zoot suit is the overstated form of a double-breasted business suit.
In spite of the idea that Zoot Suit is being associated with crimes, riots and illegal acts during the 1930 and 1940s, today, the Zoot Suit has been widely used as a hip and cool attire for dance parties. It can be noted that the King of Swing, Cab Calloway’s trademark is a white Zoot suit paired with a white shoes. Also, in movie such as “The Mask”, Jim Carrey’s attire contributed a lot in the Zoot suits popularity in the market. The Zoot Suit attire has been seen in the performances of the most popular singer of all times, Frank Sinatra.
Even though Zoot Suits are connoted to riots and crimes long ago, it has been adapted by young generations until today. With a touch of modern fashion, the Zoot Suit is then considered as a cool and stand-out attire.
